From conversation to creation
Every piece starts with a conversation about your ideas, your stones and your budget. From there, Matthew chooses the best way to make it: most designs are carved in wax, some are fabricated by hand at the bench, and some begin as a precise CAD model. However it starts, every piece is made by hand, and Matthew is part of it from the first conversation to the final polish.
Meet the Artist
Matthew Taylor, goldsmith
Matthew earned his B.F.A. in Metalsmithing from Maine College of Art and has spent more than 20 years designing and making jewelry by hand. He lives in Shelburne with his wife, Brianne, and their three children, who often keep him company in the shop.
